Tell Your Senators: Protect Women and Children From Toxic PFAS
No one should get sick or die from exposure to toxic forever chemicals, especially women and children.
House Bill 2145 — Protecting Pennsylvanians by Banning PFAS in Certain Products — would prohibit the use of PFAS in everyday products, including cosmetics, dental floss, infant teethers and other child products, as well as menstrual products.
PFAS (harmful, human-made chemicals) have been linked to serious health conditions like:
→ cancer
→ immune system suppression
→ increased cholesterol levels
→ pregnancy-induced hypertension
→ liver damage
→ reduced fertility
→ increased risk of thyroid diseas
Earlier this year, HB 2145 passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support (188 to 13) and has been sitting in the Senate all summer without being put to a vote.
There are only 9 days left for our Senators to pass legislation that would protect the health of Pennsylvanians. Unfortunately, it’s up to us to remind our Senators that there is no time to waste.
