Keep Politics Out of Your Pockets
We keep hearing about affordability, but aside from the political rhetoric, what is actually being done to help hardworking Pennsylvania families pay their bills? The rise in housing costs, prescription medication, groceries, electric bills, and gasoline has left many Americans feeling strapped, unable to afford basic needs.

Urge your elected officials to stop playing political games with your money.
There are several bills currently pending in Harrisburg that, if voted into law, would directly lower some of these costs. Both the PA House and the PA Senate need to hold a vote and pass a bill by a majority before it can go to the Governor’s desk and be signed into state law.
The problem: Some political leaders in our State Legislature, such as Senate Majority Leader Pittman, are refusing to put cost-saving bills to a vote. He is not the only one. As we near this November’s election, it is important to not only vote, but to vote for lawmakers who are driven by doing what is best for the people, not politics.
This is the time for politicians to set politics aside and vote on these bills to help hardworking Pennsylvanians afford to live.
Here are some of the bills that would bring our cost of living down in PA:
HB 504 encourages more homegrown energy sources, giving renters, and home and local business owners more affordable choices for their electricity.
HB 1834 helps prevent huge electricity rate increases by requiring data centers to be partially powered by clean energy, which also reduces brownouts and blackouts.
HB 2380 encourages electric distribution companies or electric utilities to procure modern grid-scale battery energy storage systems by 2033 to reduce utility bills and promote reliability.
HB 2223 lowers electric bills by encouraging the adoption of advanced electricity transmission technologies and the use of microgrids for improved energy efficiency.
HB 1599 orders our regional grid operator, PJM, to be more transparent about their electricity price-setting process, connect more renewable energy projects, and to prohibit data centers from connecting directly to the grid.
SB 1359 protects Pennsylvania communities by issuing a three year statewide moratorium on hyperscale data center development.
