Tell Your State Rep To Support Governor Shapiro’s Push for More Clean Energy in Pennsylvania
This spring, Governor Shapiro and the Pennsylvania legislature introduced a long-awaited bill to increase Pennsylvania's clean, renewable energy called the Pennsylvania Reliable Energy Sustainability Standard (PRESS). If passed into law, PRESS will increase the percentage of electricity that comes from clean energy in Pennsylvania’s energy mix. This is an overdue step toward improving energy reliability, reducing air pollution, and decreasing utility bills in the Commonwealth.
PRESS would require clean energy to make up 35% of Pennsylvania’s energy by 2035, a significant increase from the current 3.6% used in the state. Pennsylvania sits at 48th in the country in investing in clean energy sources like wind, solar, and geothermal. If PRESS becomes law, Pennsylvania will continue to be a national energy leader by investing in the clean, diverse energy mix of the future that will protect our health and drive economic growth.
We have a small legislative window this year to get PRESS across the finish line, so I urge you to please join us in taking action and tell your State Rep. to support PRESS today.
Thank you so much for your support.
